Hey Since we are talking about changes we should look into adding games to the champions games played.
The NHL does pay its early drafted players more than most the other prospects and is reflected in our added games to the top three picks each year. The players in the NHL all get paid more after they win and it certainly makes keeping the team together a bit more difficult. Like Chicago had to do after they won and even Tampa lost some decent players due to cap and winning.
So if James was to win 4 years in a row he gets zero games added to any players. If you were bottom 3 of the league you could be adding anywhere from 400 - 1200 games on the salary.
How many games would be fair? 20? 25?
perhaps another Poll??
something to consider I think

I could see doing something like this.
Maybe 20 pts to the top two or three leading playoff scorers for the winning team, 10 pts to the rest of the team that played in the final. 10 pts to the top scorers on the losing team, 5 to the rest.
Goalie on the winning team gets a bonus, maybe the losing team goalie gets a small bonus. Top D man if not in the top two or three gets a bonus. Lots of ways to do it.
Why not run a poll, see what the mood is?
Maybe lower the rookie bonus a bit as well. It does seem a bit high in hindsight.

I am all for lowering the rookie “cap”. Starting a number 1 overall draft pick at 300 games is quite steep in my view. I’d be ok with 150, 100 and 50 games added. Kevin P.
